the un charter does not mention either thing. the united nations never inhibits modernation nor does it ascribe dependancy to no one. that is the victory of everything.

UNfortunately, the UN doesn't address either.

1) Modernization theory is a sociological theory, and thus not really suitable to an international organization's charter. Would be interesting though if an IO actually addressed something late.

2) Dominated by exploitative neo-liberal northern states, dependency theory, or even a half-way honest discussion thereof, would expose the sham that is our global order, where one-sixth does well at the cost of the other five-sixths. Joe Stiglitz, the former World Bank chief economist, stepped down in disgust from his position for exactly this reason. His book "Globalization and Its Discontents" is good reading on this point.

well the UN,a resolution that was sign by the G5 or was it the G6,these are considered the wealthy nations,to assist the poor nations, that are considered the developing ones, but fulfilling these obligations is another issue, though the dept cancellation of some African countries has helped to lighten the burdens or these nations, they need to be encouraged to help them exit from there present state. The UN should be commended for these achievements which will written on gold. The commitments of other nations to see to the realization of the resolution, then we can all relax about the immigration explosion the is affecting all the developed nations, our helping them may be helping ourselves.

The two theories are much the same they are to help the poor nations or the underdeveloped nations or the third world.the UN is the only body that has stood for the manifestation of the two theories, but the UN does not have the power to force, members they are only armed with pleas and kneeling down to get things done.It is rather frustrating but they are making steps ,though they ought to make giant strides, but hopefully one day we will all see the importance of all these issues and wish we had all moved sooner.would you imagine that there are some countries that an average income per capital is less that $100.how do you develop with that.
