I receive food stamps, and I need to update the information in my case. I'm visiting my local DFCS office soon in order to do that. My particular situation is that I have no income, and that's what they need to update. But before I visit, I'd like to be prepared. What kinds of documentation do I need to bring as verification that I have no income? I just spoke with someone on the phone, and she didn't know anything about the verification process. So do I need to bring documents with me? If so, which ones? How does the verification process work? Thanks!

They will probably have you apply for unemployment. If you get turned down then they will know your are not employed. They pretty much have your empolyment record in their system. If you had a job in the past year then they will have you get info on how long you were employed and your last day of work. No problem.

well if you live in a house, how do you pay for it? if you have utilities how do you pay for them? you are using internet how do you pay for it? you have shoes how did you pay for them? no income means they are not paid so take your unpaid bills with you. someone else in the household paying all the bills their income is included in your request. woman having a boyfriend paying the bills well that is prostitution and it is not a federal crime so that is income.
