She is citizen of India and an MP for the elected term. What more you want?

According to law, she can become a PM as well in future, if her party gets majority or forms a govt by coalition and the MPs of the coalition elect her as PM..

That she is given a UPA chairperson status and treated like a cabinet minister by the parties in power and that she remains a PM by proxy are all aberrations of politics outside the constitutional purview..

The argument that she would not be eligible to become a PM was rubbished already by many experts.. She deliberately gave up the claim to become PM when the party was ready to crown her with the coveted post just to earn the sympathy of people and to appear as not hankering for power...

Her actual ability to hold the post are not known to us, but the sycophants of the congress known for loyalty to Nehru family are eager to make her the PM regardless of her worth for the highly sensitive post calling for much political sagacity..

As for commoner like me, the fact that the govt (under her obvious direction) glaringly influences CBI to let off the Italian businessman wanted in Bofors case, casts a shadow about her ethical merits also to hold the high post..!

The choice of a party woman with no special social contribution or fame, as Rashtrapathi - in spite of many doubts raised on the candidate's background in the media - just on the only basis of her loyalty to the party chief, casts further taint on the shadow PM...

But these are beside the point.. Your question is already answered in para.1 The supplemental info is on a guess that you are doubting her extra constitutional influences.. yes, they are extra constitutional but she is the UPA chair person and principal party's President, who can influence their PM appointee Dr M to do as she desires.. For this no big constitutional position is required..!!

We saw how Mrs Indira in spite of her great lineage (of freedom fighters) brought discredit to the national party by declaring emergency on dubious grounds.. We dont know what this lateral entrant to the lineage would do for the party and the nation..?!

God help us!

Politics in India is a business. All MPs are after making money. They need a leader to fall back on. Sonia is a very shrews woman . Being a foreigner and that to from Italy known for notorious "Families" she is aware that divide and rule method applies very appropriately in India. Its a shame that the Congress who boast (Its a fact) has many prominent leaders who can do lot of wonders for the country. If you want to get rid of Sonia you have to amend the constitution. But who will do it ?We are helpless. She knows it. Further she is also aware that once she looses power it would be very difficult for her and her family to survive in this country.

Article 102 of the Constitution says: "A person shall be disqualified for being chosen as, and for being, a member of either House of Parliament - (d) if he or she is under any acknowledgement of allegiance or adherence to a foreign state." Sonia Gandhi, in her affidavit, had declared she owned a house in Italy and may thus invite, the term "adherence" of the said provision. Under Article 103, the President is the sole adjudicator on the issue who has to decide on such matter in consultation with the Election Commission. Section 5 of the Citizenship Act, dealing with the reciprocity clause for a person who registered herself as an Indian citizen, says the said person could not enjoy more rights than those available to an Indian born person in that other country if he/she acquires citizenship of that country, like Italy for instance. The clauses of the Citizenship Act were apparently not fully met when Ms Gandhi relinquished her Italian citizenship.an indian who takes italian citizenship cannot become italian pm.hence it applies reciprocally to sonia.so experts please take note. sonia is the original pupeteer. had mr singh been our real leader we would not be entertainingt david milliband at amethi when he makes a mockery of our democracy like pak trial of mumbai accused or kashmir issue.today india is a weak nation as she has to beg others to help her solve her own troubles. a far cry from the days of iron lady indira. even ms priyanka vadra agtrees

constitution is at the mercy of MPs.

Do you know how many times indira gandhi amended constitution just to pass reservations, so that they would get votes in elections. ? I think at least 3 times.

Sonia gandhi is a power hungry b*tch. She supposedly flown to italy when there was war with pak. She will do it again, and her being indian does not matter. This time, all our MPs will go with her.

i am using such harsh words on our MPs because, being in such highest and most respectable position, one should behave more responsibly, but our MPs dont, in general.
