She wasn't perfect but at least she had some balls (excuse the expression). Personally, I don't think she would have stood for any of this pc human rights rubbish, giving druggies money, scrounging of the benefit system cr*p we have today.

If only this government could be as 'iron.'

What do you think?

Thatcher was evil like all dictators. She did take this country to war based on a lie (check the background to the Falklands war) beause of her, the problems in Northern Ireland continued longer than they have. (check background to problems not what you have read in newspapers) She killed the whole of the mining industry. This country has many years of natural resourses buried underground, communitties destroyed families broken up because of her.She sold us out to the E.U. The only people who gained from her being P.M. were the rich, and the sellfish who were like her. These morons kept her in power far to long, but where were they when she got kicked out, they ran like cowards didn`t have te guts to stand and fight for theirso called heroine The way you should judge how well a country is run, is by the way it treats all its citizens. A good country would show the strong helping the weak, so everyone benifits the good times and helps the burdon of the bad. This didn`t happen when thatcher was in power. She rob th poor to helpthe rich. You will always get the selfish morons who look upon people like thatcher as heros, even Hitler had/has his evil followers. I am not a fan of Blair, but I would rather have two of him than one thatcher. As for telling lies is there any politician that can be trusted to tell the truth.

Yes - she made the country competitive again after the wasteful and destructive policies that overtaxed the economy into recession.

It is a bit like now when Labour have made a complete mess of the country - who believes the statistics that they fabricate on a daily basis ? I don't. M4(Money Supply) rising at 14% on the year but inflation at 2.5% according to the CPI index and 3.8% by the old RPI index. Something's more than a bit fishy with 'new' labour.

Bring back Margaret Thatcher, even in her dotage, she'd do a better job than these insincere and incompetent socialists!

When Maggie came to power this country was on its ar*e, going cap in hand to the I.M.F.

We were the laughing stock of the world, America would not even talk to us.

The labour government were allowing Len Murray, Red Robbo, Mick Mcgahee and the rest of the union trouble causers sit in on cabinet meetings.

The unions were running the country, there was rubbish on the streets, dead bodies waiting to be buried, prices in the shops were going through the roof.

Then came Maggie, she took on the unions and put them in their place. I am not against unions but they have there place and a job to do and it's not running the country.

She made us a world power again and got us good deals in Europe.

All people seem to remember is the poll tax, and yes it was a bad idea but we are being ripped off now with the council tax.

She had a swim or sink policy in industry, remember how this shower let Rover go down the drain.

If Thatcherism was so bad why do'es the goverrnment use her monetry policies so closely

Its a pity she went of the rails, but they all do, Tony thinks he can do no wrong.

I could go on and on and on and on.

SHE WAS MY HERO.

No. under Thatcher, the NHS have been given worse, training have been given worse and the economic equipment saved going up and down. to not point out that she is even madder now than she exchange into lower back then. Or do you think of it exchange into desirable to wreck our proud mining industry because it exchange into uneconomic on a similar time as conserving subsidies to farmers who're only as uneconomic?

I miss her lots.

A great lady of her time.

She put the country back on track after years of Labour misrule. They were weak and let the radical left wingers run the country into the ground.

It needed an Iron Lady to put right what the plastic men could not do.

As a newly widowed young woman with 4 small children, the poll tax helped me enormously, but I was knocked into submission by the men who did not want to shoulder their responsibilities.

She will remain my favourite politician.

All this crap about still picking up the pieces of her tenure as PM. If it wasn't for her humiliating that tosser scargill and his ilk this country would be far worse off by now. When she sent the nation to war (rightly or wrongly) at least it wasn't on a lie, sorry several lies. Why not ask David Kelly's wife who she would pick out of maggie and Bliar on the honesty stakes

I love all the numptys on here having ago at her, you bunch or numpty empty heads, you have no idea what your on about. She is and will be for years to come the best PM this country has ever had.

Lets see should we go back to the 3 day week and unions hold the country to ransom, you remember unions a bunch of unelected lazy nasty people who did as they pleased as they controlled the government.

Lets face it its a good job Tony Blair is a Maggie lover he is doing his best to be just like her only thing is she was surrounded by liars thieves where as Tony is one

No, beacuse this Government is far superior to hers. I got that wrong didn't I. It seems TB will be far more unpopular to MT.

Some people think that she destroyed the country, some people think that she picked it up on its feet as best she could, everyone will agree that TB has now smacked it down again.

I think we should have a state funeral when she dies so that the nation can express the grief of her passing. I for one, know many people in the North East of England who have a lot of emotion for her and would happily travel down to London...

...and p*ss on her grave for what the useless f*ckw*t did to our nation while in power.
