The PC Brigade was formed when they abolished common sense and humour. It created a Quango of "Jobsworths" who's main aim was to stop people from laughing at what was taken in good humour and fun and without malice.

They banned what was and is natural to ordinary people who take life for what it is, where colour is no obstacles other than those created by those who have lost the real enjoyment and laughter and have joined the PC Brigade.

Sad people who have lost the understanding of real friendship and humour.

Have a nice day and keep smiling.

It depends, most of what you hear in the tabloids isn't true, no one is banning xmas, or the wearing of england shirts/flags etc.

We used to think slavery was fine, but now we know better. We grow as a society and change our views accordingly. This sometimes means we throw out old terms that are no longer appropriate.

Im not aware of any nursery rhymes being banned, or the use of the term 'black' to refer to someones race, in fact i used to work in the police service, and black was a perfectly acceptable term to use, and the police service will really go the extra mile not to offend anyone, i spent hours over the years being given diversity questionnaires and being guided in ways to be diverse and found most of it ridiculous.

On the 'golly wog', im afraid that was really quite racist, whether it was intended or not. The 'gollys' were portrayed as dishonest and stupid in the books and cartoons. They were written according to the 'spirit of the times', but we hopefully live in more enlightened times. Im in no way saying that if you have a golly you are automatically a racist, but i would humbly suggest that they are not fully informed of the origin of the character, and therefore how insulting they potentially are.

The vast majority of PC gone mad examples are normally the odd well intentioned individual being over zealous, and are more or less never backed up by any authority such as laws or institutions. If you just ignore them, they really will just go away.

I am hugely worried by the PC police. Words that were never derogatory are taken off the menu for no apparent reason except to make a more cumbersome language.

Black people chose black. African American is stupid. They are AMERICANS plain and simple. There are not different classes of Americans. And what if they are not from America?

Asian in place of Oriental. Oriental was never derogatory and just means from or of the East. Asian is stupid. I am Asian but not Oriental.

It goes on and on. Soon enough we won't be able to say menu because it is sexist. We will have to say personu.

As we were founded, we should be free to speak as we please. And others should be free to listen or not.

I still do not understand what to call 'colored' folks in the USA.

The President's father was a black guy from Africa. His mom is white so , in Africa he would be coloured. Of mixed race. So OK, call him an African/American , cause his dad was African and his mom American.

It gets more confusing. In the USA, American Indians, are according to the 'Bureau of Indian Affairs' no less, Indians. But not American Pakistanis who are racially Indians and cannot be both Americans and Indians because there is no dual nationality if you become an American. Dad Indian; mother American, must make such people, even those from New Delhi, American Indians.

Mexican Indians are called 'hispanics' even if they do not have a hispanic drop of blood in their veins. Hispanics are NOT Native Americans ever. (Even if they are and look like 'Indios', do not speak Spanish etc.)

Why do these mad PC people have to classify people by race? I remamber Hitler did that ..but he had his reasons (God help us).

When requested to give our race on official documents. we should refuse no matter the consequences. I once asked a US immigration guy to put it down for me as I am not sure of my background. He put 'Caucasian'. In the UK they put 'white' because our Border Patrol can spell that.

P.S. A Japanese friend was really pissed off by UK immigration when he put down 'Asian“ and it was scored out by a jobsworth. "WTF am I then?" he asked in perfect English. Asians , it was explained come from the Indian sub-continent. So in the UK people with "slanty eyes" (quoted from HRH Dukyembra) are NOT Asians.
Huh?
