politics, unfortunately has moved to the right as it has been over the past 20yrs. this is mostly in response to western backed terorism. China has deregulated, and privatised industries in response to demands by western multinational corporations. of course for greedy western multinational corporations, nothing is ever enough. as far as technology goes, China has made some great gains. for starters, China now has its own cell phone frequency, the only country in the world, other than the usa to actually have this. China has also sent space ships up into space. China has developed their own satelites, not depending on western satelites, meaning they have their own gps system that is independent from the american gps. China also now makes their own commercial air lines. the 4th country in the world to do this, other than canada, usa, france. China has its own procesor. the only other country other than the usa to have it. the usa makes amd, and intel. China has the godson procesor. environment is good, considering that China makes most of the worlds products. the only reason why you hear americans, and westerners complaining about China's pollution is because western countries are forcing China to buy their over priced, rip off green technology. everything is about profit when it comes to greedy western "businessmen". as far as finance goes, China has been growing 8% a year, despite countless sabatoge attempts coming from the usa, and europe. you are not going to find many reliable sources in english about China, because most of it is disinformation coming from various u.s, european propaganda outlets. remember the internet was invented by the u.s military to make their enemies look bad, not good. but you can pretty much say that China is heading in the right direction considering how bad the u.s and europe is trying to defame China
