Hi there, I recently just put a 9x12 manila envelope in my local mailbox but now I'm concerned that I was supposed to bring it to the post office instead. I labeled everything correctly on the envelope and put three stamps in the top right corner. Will they still mail it to my destination?

Also, is three stamps enough for it? There's four sheets of basic paper in it and one small piece of water color paper in it, but I didn't get a chance to weigh it. The sheet of watercolor paper is about half the size of a regular sheet of paper. Do you think the amount of stamps I used is enough to cover postage? If not, will they return it to the return address? Thank you.

This is in the United States by the way.

The number of stamps is irrelevant. There are stamps of all kinds of values. It's the total value to cover the weight of your letter that matters. Of course it will get there if you paid enough. If you didn't, whoever you sent it to will be charged extra.

The number of stamps needed depends on the weight.

They will either return it or deliver it.

You can mail anything if it fits inside the mailbox. You can even mail a cat if you want. No idea why some people put stray cats inside a mailbox.

Three stamps should be plenty. I used 2 stamps for my state tax return and that includes 3 sheets for the tax form, 2 more sheets to prove I had healthcare insurance for the entire year.
