Why is the ukraine still a 3rd world country with such high rates of Corruption & Suicides?

Now check this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate, somehow the ukraine is placed at the 8th position. I can't understand why do these people commit suicides if they have such unique culture, beautiful nature, hot and attractive girls, WHY THE HELL DO THEY KILL THEMSELVES??? Personally my guess is that those who can't suffer in this hell anymore just depart themselves to the afterlife, and those who still can just drink vodka as much as they can just to conceal the reality from themselves.


Also, I can't understand why their military still needs the conscription? There is no possible threat for the ukraine from the outside. It's not something like they send invitation asking for the service. They get into houses, handcuff and escort to the place which more looks like a prison.

So by now the ukraine is a complete police state because everything that's going on in there is controlled by their government and the government alone. Even local drug traffic! And yes, there is almost no criminal activities in the ukraine, because the criminals themselves have become the government itself. The proof? - the ukrainian president has 2 criminal records. Can you imagine a president of the United States with criminal background? it's not exactly ok... Another important detail is that Renat Akhmetov, the man who sponsored Yanukovich for president, was/(and in some way still is) number one in Doneck Mafia. So other words the country is ruled by yesterday's mafia - today's government. An intersting thing is that these yesterday's killers and bandits (when they are already in power) don't allow other criminals to go that way, no...
They would rather build up a police state.

And another thing that I hate in the ukraianian people is that they are passive, they are so passive that even when Stalin committed the genocide against them, they just did nothing to stop it. Now when they have this pro-russian government, they don't even admit the existence of this genocide. How can they be so irresponsible for their own country and the history? How could ukrainian people elect a criminal to rule the country? It's not something like he would be a dictator, they themselves have elected him.

Ukraine is under constant threat why would you say they have no threat from the outside?

they where oppressed and controlled by Soviet Russia for decades and it hasn't really been that long since they broke apart it was in the lifetime of most of them. The US can't do anything there it's to close to Russia it would be like Russia coming over and helping out Cuba there are certain elements of the cold war that are still at play.

as for the police state that's their business they can run their country anyway they want there are 50-60 countries in the world run in similar fashion it's just not possible to fix them all. Russia over see's the Ukraine the US is not welcome there it would cause all sorts of international problems with Russia they may be 'free' of the Soviet Union but Russia still controls a lot of what they do. they have a lot of nuclear weapons in the Ukraine and the Russians do not want those going anywhere just like other former soviet states.

not sure what 'genocide' you are talking about Stalin never targeted Ukrainians because they were Ukrainian he killed everyone Russian, Chek, Ukrainian it didn't matter where they were from what religion they followed if he thought they were against Soviet Russia they were killed. he killed millions of Russians too it was not 'genocide' as you call it he was not racist he was just a mass murderer and it was Stalin that did it not Russia many of the people killed were killed by Ukrainians as well that's how they can forget about it now.

why are you so racist against them anyway? there are far worse places on the planet that the US can and should do something about but don't. Like Indonesia which the US actually helped create the problem the US and Brits sold weapons to the rebels to overthrow the peaceful socialist government which the people loved. after it was overthrown the new pro-west government killed millions of people mostly children and teachers as they wanted to eliminated the educated population. they did this so they could install factories for places like nike, old navy and others and not have people know any better when they were placed into virtual slave labour.

the dictator of that country oppresses the people has killed millions and is not only ignored by the US and Britain but supported by them! so let Russia worry about the Ukraine and problems they created and let the US worry about the problems they created.

Because you don't know anything about this country and its history at all.

As well as you don't know anything about REAL Ukraine, not "true" stories from "free press" and "independent agencies" who give "fair" estimates, like AAAAAA ratings for countries who are in one step from default.



First use reliable sources of information about other countries and only then make conclusions that you "hate" millions people because they think differently than you.

Ukraine is NOT a 3rd world country. it is a descendant state from a superpower, honey.

Ukraine has poor work efficiency, and substantial part of its population has to work abroad under unfavourable conditions

I think things might well be different for the Ukraine if they just split into 2 separate countries. As long as such huge Russian influence lasts the country will not be able to follow say Poland's path or that of the Baltic states.
