If the Prime Minister was assassinated in a 9/11 style of attack to the United Kingdom who would take charge, the Deputy Prime Minister? or the Chancellor? and if that second person was killed who would be the 3rd in line?

2nd Question,
What if a plane hit the House of Commons whilst Prime Ministers Questions was taking place and nearly everyone was killed, who do you think would run our country whist we were under attack?

The deputy prime minister would be in charge if the PM dies, and then the party would have a vote over who they want to be the new leader of the party. Bear in mind we vote for individual MPs here, so the constituency which the PM represented would have to have an election as their representative would be dead, BUT the party is still in power. Nothing apart from the leader is going to change, a bit like when Gordon took over from Tony.

Then someone somewhere has written a plan should people be bumped off, for example if both the PM and the deputy PM are killed, then the chancellor would take over, if hes dead the X takes over and so forth.

It could even go to members of the opposition party, if all the current parties members are dead, whilst we were in a state of emergency, for example when the riots reoccurring, there is a "status" that is passed which means the country is in a state of emergency and the most senior person takes control, so if that were Ed Miliband because he was the only one left, wed take him over no-one and then have a GE when it was feasible.

Hey Andy,

That would be crazy if that did happen!!

Hmm, Nick Clegg would be in charge if David Cameron was attacked, and if Nick Clegg died then yes the next highest in power would be in charge, and if a plane hit the House of Commons then there are a number of things that could happen, there could be a youth revolution, with people trying to gain power like trade unionists and the BNP, if that didn't occur then the head of the biggest business organisation may act as head of state.

Only a guess!!

God save us - Nick Clegg - the deputy PM a non-job invented by Tony Blair to make John Prescott shut the fake up.

I hope that none of the above are actually "running" the country, and it's as it's always been the civil servant army behind them.

The "ruling" class has an abundance of clones to replace whatever the demise of the current puppet.

The plane you dream of, may be best thing to happen to that building, and without it's pantomime the country may take off.

Wishful thinking.

Don't think it would make a lot of difference who got the top job . after all the country just carries on when the government are all on their 'well earned' long holidays
