So basically, its time for me to do my financial aid papers for my university. I am not yet 24, so I am still forced to use my parent's info even though I do not live with them anymore. The problem I have ran into is, my mother is really poor and so I have to fill out this extra paper on her income. It asks how many food stamps she got last year. However, none of her tax information shows food stamps, and does not list it in her income. So my question is, how do I find out how many food stamps she had last year? Or should I not put in an amount under the SNAP (Food Stamp) category?

There should be an online program called EBT Edge. It usually lists what she spent and how much was given to her.

For example: They would give me $200.00 a month. Times that by 12 then that would equal $2400.00 a year.

They want an approximation.

She has some idea how much she got last month, senior citizens have very stable benefit amounts, Take 12 times last month benefits.

The time case managers can spend doing personal secretarial work for recipients is coming to an end.

There just isn't enough manpower to provide information by phone request, when that same information was sent to the recipient at each review or reported change.

In your case, precision is not required, use your college bound mind to arrive at a good estimate.

That is all that is expected.

Of course it's not in her tax return.

Food stamps are not taxable income.

Have her ask her welfare case worker for the amount. SNAP is food stamps.
